Connect FigureLane with ChatGPT, Claude and more through MCP. Find paperwork, check summaries and prepare invoices and reports in conversation. You choose permissions and approve proposed changes in signed-in FigureLane.

FigureLane provides a secure remote MCP server at https://figurelane.com/mcp. MCP, or Model Context Protocol, lets a compatible app work with the records you authorise it to access.

- Create your FigureLane account, verify your email and set up your business.
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins, choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name the plugin Figurelane and enter https://figurelane.com/mcp as its server URL.
- Choose OAuth and enter figurelane-chatgpt as the client ID. Use token endpoint authentication None; no client secret is needed.
- Create the plugin, sign in on FigureLane, review the requested permissions and authorise the account connection.
- Start a fresh conversation and mention @Figurelane to ask about your business records.

Try: ‘Show the outstanding checks for September, help me review them, then prepare an accountant pack.’ FigureLane keeps unfinished reports marked Draft. Invoices are saved as unpaid until you confirm payment; the app does not email invoices or send reports to your accountant.
To import a PDF or photo, open the private FigureLane review link and keep the review page open while your browser reads the document. Then check the reading and approve the import. Imported records still need review before month approval. CSV and text files are read by FigureLane.

Approve changes in FigureLane
The app can prepare a proposal, but it cannot approve it for you. Open the private review link, compare the current and proposed fields, then approve or reject in your signed-in FigureLane account. Uploads, invoice drafts, issued invoices and month approval use the same confirmation flow.
A proposal expires after 15 minutes. If the affected records change before approval, FigureLane asks for a fresh proposal. Saved changes appear in your workspace and change history.
Control what the app can access
Reading records and reports is separate from permission to propose corrections, approve a month, prepare invoices or stage uploads. Only the permissions granted to the connection are available.
PDFs and photos are read in your browser, including imports from a connected app. No external OCR or AI service is used. The connected app can receive requested records, extracted text and reports within its permissions; an accountant ZIP includes original documents. Generated report snapshots expire after 24 hours and require your FigureLane sign-in to download.
Open Account → Connected apps to view permissions and disconnect. Disconnecting revokes future access; information already shared remains subject to the app provider’s policies.
Common questions
Can an AI app save changes without my approval?
No. Every proposed change requires approval in your signed-in FigureLane account. The app receives a review link and can check its status, but cannot approve the proposal itself.
Does the MCP connection cost extra?
The connection has no separate FigureLane charge. Your plan’s upload, processing and storage limits still apply; the free sample includes 10 document uploads total.
Can I connect another MCP app?
A compatible remote MCP client can use the same server. Its OAuth client and exact callback URLs must be registered with FigureLane before account connection. Contact support for another client’s setup.
How do I disconnect?
Open Account → Connected apps and choose Disconnect beside the app. Its future access is revoked. Your records and saved reports remain in FigureLane.
