FigureLane vs QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks Online is an accounting system for maintaining books, connecting bank accounts, invoicing and running business reports. FigureLane prepares reviewed income and expense records from uploaded paperwork for Excel or PDF handover. Choose around whether you need to maintain your books in an accounting system or prepare files for yourself or your accountant. FigureLane is not a replacement for every QuickBooks accounting feature.
Choose the job before the software
QuickBooks Online can receive receipts from a computer, mobile device or email, extract information and let you add or match transactions to your books. Its bank connections, invoicing, payments and reporting sit within an ongoing accounting workflow. Features and available plans differ by country.
FigureLane starts with the financial files you upload: PDFs, images, CSV or text. Review dates, amounts, categories, business portions and supporting matches, then download a report and originals. This suits an owner who wants a preparation workspace while the accountant maintains the books elsewhere.

| Need | FigureLane | QuickBooks Online |

| Bank data | Upload statements or bank CSV for review | Connect eligible bank accounts and work with transactions |
| Reports | Excel, PDF, records CSV, bank CSV and ZIP packs | Excel, CSV and PDF report options depend on report view |
| Sales invoices | Create a PDF; mark payment status manually | Create and send invoices; payment services have eligibility and terms |
Test the handover and reporting basis
Compare the report your accountant actually needs. QuickBooks reports reflect transactions maintained in the accounting system. FigureLane reports reflect the reviewed records and dates included in your uploads; those uploads do not prove that a reporting year is complete.
Keep access to receipt evidence separate from simply exporting totals. Inspect original-file coverage and the receiving person's access. In FigureLane, generated invoices start unpaid and enter report totals after the manual Paid tick. FigureLane does not collect payment, file tax returns, run payroll or post records into QuickBooks.
Compare plans and the better fit
QuickBooks pricing and feature availability are regional. The US page includes a limited Free plan and paid subscriptions; accountant access, user limits and reporting features vary by plan. Review the local offer and separate payment or payroll terms rather than assuming one headline subscription includes everything.
FigureLane offers a free sample of 10 document uploads total and paid allowances for ongoing uploads. Choose QuickBooks Online for an accounting system with connected transactions and invoicing. Choose FigureLane for reviewing existing paperwork and preparing files for a separate accountant workflow.
Common questions
Can FigureLane replace my QuickBooks books?
No. FigureLane provides preparation records and reports, not a full accounting ledger. Do not replace an established accounting workflow without checking the requirements with your accountant.
Does FigureLane sync reports straight to QuickBooks Online?
No. Download and share the report yourself. If a CSV will be imported, confirm the required fields and format; a spreadsheet export is not an accounting integration.
