How net payment terms become a date

Due date = issue date + agreed number of calendar days. Net 30 adds 30 days; it does not mean the same date next month. Zero days means payment is due on the issue date.

This tool handles different month lengths and leap years. It does not apply business-day terms, end-of-month agreements or a contract that starts the clock on receipt or acceptance.

Worked example

An invoice issued on 14 October 2026 with net 30 terms has a calculated due date of 13 November 2026. An invoice issued on 31 January 2028 with net 30 terms falls due on 1 March 2028, because 2028 is a leap year.

Put the agreed date on the invoice

Include both the payment terms and the due date so the customer can check them. In FigureLane, you can create a PDF invoice in Income and mark it paid after payment arrives.

Common questions

Does the calculator move weekend dates?

No. It adds calendar days without moving Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays. Use the date required by your agreement if it specifies business days.

Does net 30 always mean one month?

No. Months have different lengths. Net 30 means 30 days under the calendar-day assumption used here.
