Turn financial documents into a PDF report
FigureLane turns receipts, invoices and bank statements into a new PDF financial report. Upload the documents, review the extracted income and expenses, then choose a report range and download PDF. It summarises the financial records in a consistent layout; it does not convert Word files, merge scanned pages or reproduce each original document’s appearance.
What documents can become a PDF report?
Upload financial PDFs, JPG or PNG receipt photos, bank CSV or TXT files. Choose Income for sales invoices, Expenses for purchases, Mixed for a combined batch or Bank statement for bank rows. You can prepare receipts and invoices without a bank statement.
Keep each business separate and check its currency before uploading. FigureLane does not convert currencies. A personal item or transfer should be reviewed as such, rather than automatically treated as business income or expense.
Create the report in four steps
Document month helps you browse the paperwork in Documents. It does not set the report range or determine when your monthly upload allowance is used. You choose the reporting period in Reports.
- Open Documents and upload the source files for your business.
- Review the extracted date, description and amount against each original. Confirm categories, business portions and any bank or receipt matches.
- Open Reports and choose Uploaded dates, a month, calendar year, tax or financial year, or custom dates.
- Select PDF and download the report. Check its date range and any DRAFT label before sharing.
What the PDF includes
PDF is useful when the recipient needs a consistent report to read or print. Choose Excel if they need to work with the figures, or a ZIP pack if you also need to send original files.
| Report detail | How it is prepared |
|---|---|
| Business, period and currency | Uses the selected business and report date range. |
| Income statement | Included when the report contains income; shows revenue, categorised business expenses and profit before tax. |
| Expense-only output | Available when you are preparing purchase receipts and invoices without sales. |
| Monthly breakdown and records | Uses the reviewed record dates, amounts and selected business portions. |
| Optional estimated tax | Uses only a rate you choose and save; the figure is labelled as estimated tax. |
| Review status | Unfinished preparation is marked DRAFT. Approval records a review decision, not a guarantee of complete accounts. |

The fictional Harbour Studio sample includes a GBP 300.00 sales invoice, a GBP 48.00 office-supplies receipt and a GBP 40.00 phone-and-internet invoice with 50% business use. Its business expenses total GBP 68.00 and profit before tax is GBP 232.00.
The sample is marked DRAFT and has no saved tax estimate. It is generated with FigureLane’s report exporter, so you can inspect the actual PDF format before creating an account.
Check the figures and source access
A generated report is only as useful as the records behind it. Check missing dates, uncertain amounts, duplicated paperwork and unresolved matches. Missing evidence should stay visible rather than being replaced with an invented explanation.
Private source links require access to the owning workspace. If your accountant needs the originals without workspace access, download the ZIP pack and share it securely yourself. FigureLane does not automatically send reports to an accountant.
Reports help prepare your records. They do not establish tax deductibility, determine actual tax owed, produce full statutory accounts or submit returns.
Upload limits and repeated monthly use
Upload up to 10 files at a time, at most 15 MB each. PDFs support up to 20 pages, including at most five scanned pages. English OCR supports clear scans and photos; keep the upload page open while reading finishes.
The free sample includes 10 document uploads total, with no expiry. Paid plans provide monthly upload allowances so you can keep adding paperwork to the same business. See Pricing for current plan limits and checkout availability.
Common questions
Can FigureLane convert Word documents to PDF?
No. It accepts PDF, JPG, PNG, CSV and TXT financial sources and generates financial reports from extracted records. Word-to-PDF and general document layout conversion are outside this workflow.
Will the PDF contain my receipt photos?
The PDF presents the extracted financial records and report, not a merged scan of your originals. Download a ZIP pack when you need the source files alongside the reports.
Can I create a PDF report for one month?
Yes. Choose a month in Reports, or select another date range. The Document month filter helps find the source files and is separate from the report range.
